The Abbenbroek Building, named after Bill and Bev Abbenbroek a foundational family of NCC, is a modern facility, primarily designed with the unique needs of primary children in mind and to also provide first-class facilities for our music programs.
Opened in 2010, the building was designed by Ian Conwell (past Board Member and parent) of Conwell Architects.
Junior School Library
This library is a colourful, engaging space designed to inspire our younger students. It provides the ideal setting for the exploration of books, computer resources and group projects.
Performing Arts Room
This spacious area is equipped with everything students need to engage in the performing arts. It features make-up facilities, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, and a dressing room for costume changes.
Undercover Recreation Area
The large undercover recreation area is located alongside the Junior School oval. It supplements outdoor areas and provides plenty of undercover space for students during wet weather. It is also the area where our Junior sport teacher holds engaging PE classes.
Science Laboratory
The science laboratory is a well-resourced facility providing our Junior School students with an opportunity to gain an early appreciation for the wonders of science. In the laboratory, we take students through a variety of practical learning experiences. We are one of the few schools on the Sunshine Coast to have a purpose-built science lab for primary school children.
Music Room
Junior School is the ideal time to begin learning an instrument and developing an appreciation for music. In the music room, our dedicated music teacher holds music lessons and choir practise and introduces students to a large variety of instruments.
Performance & Instrumental Music
Equipped with six tutorial rooms and large rehearsal spaces, this centre is available to all NCC students. It has become an important part of the school for students involved in one of our many orchestras, bands and ensembles.
