Sport at NCC

Encouraging a lifelong interest in physical activity

Sport is a compulsory part of the curriculum at NCC, and therefore full student attendance and involvement is required. NCC’s Sport program aims to cater for all students through a variety of solo and group sporting activities so they can discover the physical, social and other benefits that come from being active.

Students at NCC have access to the finest on-campus facilities on the Sunshine Coast, including a multi-purpose stadium, fully-equipped gymnasium and a custom-built rock climbing wall as well as dedicated ovals. With us, students from Prep to Year 12 can grow their abilities while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership and pride in performance through competing as a member of NCC’s Sporting teams.

  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Gymnastics
  • Netball
  • Rugby 7s
  • Soccer
  • Touch Football

NCC’s coaches work alongside teachers during SCISSA lessons, to encourage and build skills.

Middle & Senior School Sport

The extensive Sport program at Nambour Christian College promotes commitment, teamwork and enjoyment at all levels of competition. While the thrill of victory is an important part of playing any sport, our goal is to encourage students to take pride in doing their best and pursue a lifelong interest in physical activity.

NCC has a proud sporting record amongst SCISSA schools, with many representative teams competing and often placing at high-level competitions. While NCC students delight in winning, we encourage students to keep sport in the right perspective, with experienced coaches concentrating on teaching correct technique and playing fair.

We offer many sports to students in Middle & Senior School including Cricket and Tennis, and have six focus sports with dedicated teachers in charge and extensive seasons for students to train and compete through:

  • Basketball

  • Touch Football

The Sport program is complemented by our Physical Education curriculum, which enables students to develop a high level of fitness, skill and involvement in an extensive variety of sports. Regular inter-house competitions also offer further opportunities for students to learn and develop through sport and physical activity.
