Student Services

NCC provides several programs and facilities to help students with their mental and social well-being, to support them in their study, and, importantly, in navigating their future beyond schools, i.e. their career.

Wellbeing

Nambour Christian College has long prioritised pastoral care and wellbeing for our students, staff and families. It’s an integral part of our culture. For each student, we seek to foster their spiritual, physical, social, and emotional wellbeing and believe that effective, healthy relationships are core to that.

At NCC, we also run the Six Ways of Wellbeing program for students. This holistic program gives focus to our entire community on how we prioritise and value wellbeing.

Connect Groups

At NCC, we have several connection groups where students can come together to support and grow in fellowship with each other as they navigate their journey to adulthood.

Revival

This is a connection group open to all students who wish to join in fellowship, learn more about Christ, and share time praying and socialising. Often, this group will host a lunch and invite students to come along to meet others. This runs one lunch hour each week.

Alpha

This is a group of students who meet to learn about the Gospel and to be able to ask any questions relating to faith in a non-threatening environment. It is student-led and open to all students. This group also runs one lunch a week.

Before School Prayer Meeting

This group is open to all students one day a week before school, and teachers also participate in this meeting.

Senior Male Student Group

This student-led group is open to male students and meets once a week to connect, share lunch, and discuss issues facing young men.

Tribal Youth

An exterior ministry organisation, Tribal Youth, from Nambour Christian Church, comes to the school fortnightly on a Tuesday morning before school to cook pancakes, connect with students, and build relationships. The Deputy Head liaises with the Tribal Youth ministry team, which is open to all students from Middle and Senior Schools.

Library

At NCC, we have two modern and dynamic libraries – one for our Junior School and one for our Middle and Senior School Students. Both are equipped with thousands of books in paper, eBook, and audiobook formats to cater to various reading abilities and interests. Younger students have lessons in using the library and staff are on hand to assist students in various curriculum subjects.

Careers Hub

Through our comprehensive online resource, the NCC Careers Hub microsite, we aim to provide our senior school students with the latest information to help them decide about their future careers and lives beyond school. It’s a valued resource for students and parents as to what help is available directly from NCC and external providers.

Enrichment & Extensions

The NCC Learning Enrichment Centre assists students with acknowledged special needs from Prep to Year 12. This support is offered in a variety of ways depending on the student’s level of need, the school resources and places available.

Additionally, NCC provides Learning Extensions in many subjects for students who want to advance their learning and take on new challenges, including external competitions and Early University Access.

Our Meliora Enrichment Program is specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of Year 7, 8, and 9 students who demonstrate advanced cognitive abilities.
