Nambour Christian College is currently governed by a Board of Directors.

In 1989, the church Pastor saw the need for a more professional and planned approach to the oversight and development of the school and established the School Board. It immediately set about creating a development plan for the future called ‘Towards 2000’. This marked the end of the formal connection between the church and the school.

Since that time, Nambour Christian College has been governed by a Board of Directors, making the school an independent organisation to the church that founded us and re-focusing the school to welcome all Christians. You can read more about our history here.

Our board comprises professional men and women who give of their time and are very experienced in education at many levels. Collectively, they adopt a professional approach to set strategic direction for all business units owned and operated by Nambour Christian College Ltd which currently comprises of:

Lynne Doneley - Chair

DIP TEACH., GRAD DIP. ED STUDS, M.ED, M.ED ADMIN, EDD

Lynne has served on the NCC Board for eight years and was appointed the Board Chair in 2023. Lynee currently is the Executive Officer/Principal Research Officer (Qld) of Associated Christian Schools. Lynne was the Board Chair of Gulf Christian College until 2022 and is the CEN Qld State Executive Officer. She commenced in this position in 2007 after completing ten years as Principal of Genesis Christian College in the Pine Rivers Shire north of Brisbane. Lynne’s extensive experience as a classroom teacher, her various co-ordinating and managerial roles in schools in NSW and Queensland and her passion for Christian schooling all contribute significantly to the expertise level of the College Board.

Kerry Evans - Deputy Chair

Kerry has seen his three children graduate from NCC and has been a member of the College Board since 1998. With many years as a Youth Pastor in the Baptist Church and more recently head of the local Scripture Union, Kerry has been able to contribute significantly to the various College Service Trips and outreaches involving our students. Kerry’s business background in the media and advertising industry has enabled him to oversee the promotion and marketing function of the College for a number of years.

Tim McNamara

MB.BS, FRCPA, GRADDIP (COMPUTING)

Tim has worked on the Sunshine Coast since 1996 as a Medical Pathologist. He was the Director of Clinical Pathology at Nambour General Hospital and subsequently Sunshine Coast Public Hospital until 2019. He currently works in Private Practice with QML Pathology. He is a former parent of two children who graduated from NCC. He brings to the College Board experience in quality systems, computing, large department management, organisational accreditation and small business management.

Matt Hope

Matt Hope is the CEO of Colour Capital, which he founded to streamline resources required to develop and support operations for his franchise investments. Colour Capital is currently the operating entity for G.J. Gardner Homes (NSW/ACT, WA), Golds Gym (Aus/NZ) and Raw Energy Cafes.

Matt is also a Director of Opportunity International and an ambassador for Compassion. Matt has a passion for helping the poor and has visited and supported not-for-profit projects in India, Kenya, Rwanda and Indonesia.

Matt is married to Jessica and they have two children (Lucia and Josiah).

Ashleigh Fanning

CERT IV MINISTRY, DIP. LEADERSHIP, LL.B (Bond), GradDip LP.

Ashleigh is a lawyer in the litigation team at Corney & Lind Lawyers. Her areas of focus are in dispute resolution, workplace relations, criminal defence and personal injury. Previously, she served in her local church’s youth and young adult ministries including Red Frogs and holds tertiary education qualifications in biblical studies and leadership. Ashleigh’s experience in ministry and legal practice enables her to bring knowledge and expertise to matters that affect young people and schools.

Richard Brown

Richard was recently appointed to the College Board. Richard was Principal of Toowoomba Christian College for 30 years and retired from that position at the end of term 1 2022. He has been a Board member for both State and National Christian school bodies. He has served as a Board member of Independent Schools Queensland since 2014 and currently sits on their finance committee. He is passionate about an education that opens the eyes of the hearts and minds of young people to the wonders and glory of God.
