Hampers of Hope – Bringing Joy to Those Who Need It Most (EXTENDED GIVING PERIOD - DONATE BY THIS FRIDAY)

This Christmas, THE !N CROWD is spreading kindness across the Sunshine Coast through our Hampers of Hope initiative - and YOU can help! We're packing hampers filled with essential items, festive treats, and messages of care for individuals and families who are at risk or experiencing homelessness.

For many, Christmas can be a difficult time — but together, we can bring a little hope and joy to those who might otherwise miss out on experiencing it. Each hamper is a reminder that our community cares and that no one goes without when we stand together in kindness.

"Your generosity is greatly appreciated. There will be a 'Christmas Tree' up in the Student Administration Office to come and place your items under, which will be delivered to those in need." - Rev Nick Curtis on behalf of Kurt Payne (Founder & Director of THE !N CROWD and former NCC student).

Donations to the Student Office by 5 Dec (extended period)

Items:
Christmas Pudding
Lollies
Chips
Cordial
Hot Chocolate Sachets
Spreads (assorted)
Cake/Cupcake Mix
Pasta Sauce

JUNIOR SCHOOL SWIMMING LESSONS WRAP-UP | Last week marked the conclusion of our Junior School swimming lessons. We want to thank NCC Swimmers and Nambour Aquatic Centre for facilitating these fantastic programs. Their sessions have provided our students with valuable water safety skills and increased their confidence in the pool.

We hope all students have enjoyed their swimming sessions, especially in this beautiful, warm weather! These lessons are an essential part of our curriculum, and we wish to thank our Junior School teaching staff for their flexibility and guidance during these sessions.

WE BID THEE ADIEU | On Friday 21 November, we farewelled our 2025 Graduates at our full College Assembly where we honoured all the graduating classes, Year 6, Year 9 and Year 12. Valedictorian, Max B delivered a heartfelt valedictory address to his fellow graduates while also providing some words of wisdom to students across all of the cohorts:

“As Jesus once said, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friend" (John 15:13). True greatness isn’t found in titles or trophies it’s found in slowing down and showing kindness when it’s least expected. Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do isn’t to get ahead, but to reach back and help someone else forward.

So, as we walk into this new chapter, may we be known not just for what we achieve, but for how we treat others along the way. If we carry compassion with us if we’re willing to stop, to listen, and to help then wherever life takes us, we’ll leave a trail of kindness.

Because the world doesn’t just need more smart people, it needs more compassionate people. People who notice, who speak up for those who can’t, and who act with kindness and courage.

Friends, remember to enjoy the small moments. Don’t take anything too seriously. Because one day, you’ll look back and realise those small moments were the big ones all along.”

Class of 2025, thank you for the memories… we bid thee adieu! We pray God’s blessings over each and every one of you.

ROOTS OF EMPATHY PROGRAM | From Baby to Big Kids: Drover Vaughan and the Journey of 3W

This year, we celebrate a truly special milestone—the Year 6 graduating class of 2025! Among their many achievements, this group shares a unique bond with a very special little teacher: Drover Vaughan.

Back in 2022, when these students were in 3W, they participated in the Roots of Empathy program, welcoming Drover as their classroom baby. At just 8 weeks old, Drover became the heart of their learning about kindness, care, and emotional understanding. His mum, Mrs Leonie Vaughan, taught the class for the first two weeks of that year before entering maternity leave. Still, she continued to visit regularly, sharing Drover’s milestones—from his first smiles to his tummy crawling.

Now, Drover is 3 years and 8 months old, full of energy and curiosity, while the students who once marvelled at his tiny fingers are ready to take on high school. Through the program, they learned that empathy grows just as a child does—through patience, attention, and love. Drover helped them see the world through gentle eyes, and those lessons will stay with them forever.

And the story doesn’t end here! Drover, an NCC ELC attendee, will continue his NCC journey in 2027 as a Prep student, giving him the wonderful opportunity to watch his “big buddies” continue to grow and shine through their senior years. What a beautiful full-circle moment for our school community!

As we celebrate the Year 6 graduates of 2025, we also celebrate Drover’s role in shaping their hearts. Congratulations to this amazing class—and thank you, Drover, for being such an unforgettable part of their journey!
